1. Mercedes Benz African Fashion Festival
This is Ghana’s biggest international runway show. This is a major event for fashion enthusiasts, designers and models allowing for connections to be made with international agencies, media and potential customers. The event is a three-day occasion that is held in Accra, the heart of Ghana. 2. Swahili Fashion Week
This event has to be the biggest fashion event in the whole of East Africa. The event provides an opportunity for both fashion and accessory designers from Swahili speaking countries and beyond to showcase their work. The Swahili fashion was founded in 2008 by Pan Africa couturier and their event in 2021 marked the fourteenth edition.
3. ECOWAS Fashion Week
This fashion event recognizes African designers who depict the African continent in a very colorful and unique way. The Economic Community Of West African States works to bring together the economies of the West African region with its own fashion week. Designers and manufacturers from all over the 15 countries who are members of the community come together to showcase their work. 4. Nairobi Fashion Week
This is a must-see fashion week for fashion enthusiasts. This event provides you with an unforgettable fashion experience that leaves you wanting more. Some of the “Kenya-centric” activities of this event include; trunk shows, cocktail receptions, celebrity meet-and-greets and so much more.
5. Lagos Fashion and Design Week
This event draws consumers, buyers and media to Lagos, Nigeria. The show offers a variety of shows, workshops and showrooms. The aim of the Lagos fashion and design week is to discover, support, educate, mentor and provide opportunities to designers who present their work during the fashion week. The Lagos fashion week is a 4-day event and every day brings a new experience to attendees.
